The Rune hasta is a one handed melee weapon, similar to the spear. 40 Attack is required to wield this weapon. Although Hastae offer no defensive bonuses, the fact that they can be used with a shield provides more defence than a normal spear. A rune hasta can be obtained as a rare drop by killing the Smoke demon champion in the Smoke dungeon.
