Gold ore can be smelted in a furnace to create gold bars.
Gold ore can be obtained by mining the gold rocks in various places such as Crafting guild, Barbarian, Rimmington crater, and Brimhaven. It requires level 40 Mining to be mined, and grants 372 experience per ore. One can also obtain Gold ores by mining Gold deposits, which can be found in the Living Rock Cavern. These grant more Gold ores per mined rock, but require level 75 Mining.
Tip: Crafting guild is the best mining site for gold ores. It has 6 gold rocks there and the bank is literally just 5 steps away.
