Red salamander is a ranged weapon which requires 60 ranged level to equip. Players can use herb tars up to tarromin with the red salamander. It is only usable for 200 charges until it dies. The type of herb tars will determine the ranged strength (and thus the maxhit) of the attack.
It can be obtained through hunter. To catch it, you need a box trap and a hunter level of 82. They are only located on top of the Karamja volcano. Catching one rewards you with 1743 Hunter experience.
