The Sacred clay chaps are given to every new player once they enter Barbarian village after completing the tutorial. They can also be crafted from sacred clay by using 3 pieces of it on an anvil, requiring 5 smithing and granting 300 smithing experience.
The Sacred clay chaps are a degradable armour and will gradually degrade into dust while used in combat, possessing a total of 1,500 charges. If the user dies and drops the chaps, they will lose 25% of their current charges. Unlike other degradable weapons, they cannot be repaired at any state.
Sacred clay armours scale to the level of the wielder, improving their combat bonuses accordingly. The chaps' bonuses will improve when the player achieves levels 10, 20, 30 or 40 defence.
