The Abyssal whip is the most popular one handed weapon. It requires 70 Attack to equip and can be obtained as a rare drop from Abyssal demons. It's special attack entangles the opponent, leaving them vulnerable to attacks and unable to move for 15 seconds, with or without dealing damage.
It can be upgraded into 4 elemental variants by using an elemental crystal on the whip, increasing the accuracy to +100 and increasing the strength stat to +91 but making it degradable after 5000 hits into the original Abyssal whip or the crystal:
