Amulet of defence

The Amulet of defence provides small defensive stats for melee, magic and ranged. It is rarely used because it offers no offensive stats, while armour provides far better defensive stats.

The amulet of defence can be created by casting the magic spell lvl-2 Enchant from the normal spellbook on an emerald amulet. An emerald amulet can be bought in the jewellery shop or made by using the crafting skill.

To craft an emerald amulet, you first need a cut/uncut emerald, which can be bought from players. A cut emerald can also be purchased from the gem trader or obtained from stealing from a gem stall. The uncut emerald can be obtained through mining shooting stars, Ores and gem rocks or be obtained from certain monsters as a drop.

To cut an uncut emerald a crafting level of 27 and a chisel are required. The cut emerald then has to be made into an emerald amulet at a furnace which requires lv 31 crafting, 1 gold bar and an amulet mould. Next you will need a ball of wool to attach to the emerald amulet, to make a (strung) emerald amulet. Finally, you have to enchant the (strung) emerald amulet by casting the magic spell lvl-2 Enchant on it, this requires lv 27 magic, 3 air runes and 1 cosmic rune.
