The dragon breath normally doesn't hit very high, but it hits extra hard against Dragons, up to 40, twice. The dragonfire shield greatly protects you from the Dragon's fire breath while fighting them and is more efficient at it than the Anti-dragon shield.
The dragonfire shield can only be created by using a Draconic visage at an anvil. This requires a Smithing level of 90 and an Anti-dragon shield and hammer in your inventory. Creating the dragonfire shield will grant 1,046 Smithing experience.
The Draconic visage is only obtainable as a drop from high level Dragons. The Anti-dragon shield can be purchased for 46,494 coins in the Shield shop, located in Falador.
