The Abyssal whip is the most popular one handed weapon. It requires 70 attack to equip and can be obtained as a rare drop from abyssal demons. It can be upgraded into 4 elemental variants by using an elemental crystal on the whip, increasing the accuracy to +100 and increasing the strength stat to +91 but making it degradable after 5000 hits into the original whip or the crystal.

Trivia

Many players dislike training with the whip due to it having a shared attack style. Dragon hasta is often used as an alternative.
It's commonly believed that the whip is inferior to the dragon hasta, this is not true as they have identical bonuses.
Before it's upgraded version, the elemental whip, came into the game it was the best 1-handed melee weapon.
