The Kalphite Queen (referred to by most players as KQ) is one of the various bosses available in Emps-World. She is one of the few bosses that can be assigned to the player as a slayer task by Duradel. She resides within the depths of the Kalphite hive, a dungeon whose entrance can be found in Al-Kharid. The entrance to her lair inside of the hive requires the player to use a Rope on the lair's entrance. Because of the hive's location, the Kalphite Queen requires an active Membership in order to be reached.

Mechanics

The Kalphite Queen has two different stages during the fight. Both stages use three different attacks that utilize all three combat styles. The first is a standard melee attack. The second is a single-target ranged attack whose projectile appears as a cluster of spines. The third is a single-target magic attack that drains the player's prayer points, with the projectile resembling a bolt of electricity. Her first stage has the Protect from Magic and Protect from Ranged prayers active, while her second stage swaps to the Protect from Melee prayer. Once the player successfully defeats her first stage, the Kalphite Queen's second stage will commence to break through the first stage's carcass.

Both stages of the Kalphite Queen are poisonous and possess a unique poison that gradually increases in severity. The poison damage will start at 1 and will slowly increase up to 15. The player can prevent her poison damage by using Antipoisons, Super antipoisons, or the Poison purge aura.
