Iron ore can be smelted in a furnace by itself to create iron bar or along with a coal to create a steel bar.
Iron ore can be obtained by mining iron rocks in Barbarian village, in the Kharidian desert, in the Dwarven mines or in the mines located outside of the city of Varrock. It requires level 15 Mining to be mined, and grants 156 experience per ore.
Iron ore will smelt with a success rate of 100%.
