The Smithing skill uses the ores obtained with the Mining skill to smelt bars and smith items out of them on an anvil. For nearly every bar you need several ores to refine it and for nearly every item you need multiple bars, thus the Smithing skill requires high amounts of ores to advance.

Be aware that for bronze bars you only need 1 tin ore and the rest copper ores, or vice versa, to create all bronze bars. Also the iron ores will turn into iron bars with a success rate of 100%.<br>
All bars can also be smelted with the [[Superheat spell]] on the [[Normal spellbook]]. If players use the Superheat spell they need no smithing requirements to smelt the bars, but they will still gain the same smithing experience!

A full inventory of arrowheads takes a lot longer to make than a full inventory of platebodies.
